Unresponsive Wakefulness Syndrome
Unresponsive wakefulness syndrome (UWS) also known as apallic syndrome is initiated by severe brain damage as the consequence of the tumor of brain, stroke, neuroinfection, oxygen deprivation and other.
Diagnosis of UWS is given after the patients stays in the state for four weeks. The main method of diagnostics is MRI that confirms brain damage. The main vegetative functions are preserved including heart beat, breath, temperature regulation, regular blood pressure etc.
